Sanketi Community

A subsect of the Smartha Brahmins in Karnataka, we are related to the Iyer community. According to historians, a millennium ago we migrated to Karnataka from Shenkottai, a small town in Tamil Nadu. Our community is found in Hassan, Mysore, Mandya and Shivamoga districts today.
